The 1080 is not an upgrade for the 980Ti. It's an upgrade to the 980, 970, 780Ti and so on. It might however be a better option for a new system/new GPU, as the performance is comparable to the 980Ti but for ~70W less power consumption. | |

Also to nvidia 1080ti will not be worth upgrading becouse its price will 900+eu for custom card prodc. 1080ti maybe get 14xxx second for task.. 14000 is very optimistic time)) | |

For crunchers the GTX 1000 series has brought a reduction in running costs and the price of second hand GTX 900 series GPU's. Without significant competition the prices are not going to change, as the major driving market forces are limited to profit. The 145-120W saving the GTX1060-3GB has over the GTX970, for example, isn't much. In the UK that would only save you ~9p/day or ~£33/year. Maybe $20 in some US states & 50Euros in Germany, it depends where you are. | |
