UBUNTU (all distribs) users add this PPA with this command line :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt-get update


You may then use the Synaptic packets manager to install the latest available proprietary driver from NVidia .
You don't need any more a manual installation !

Abstract from my BOINC journal :
... CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX TITAN Black (driver version 370.28, CUDA version 8.0, compute capability 3.5, 4096MB, 4010MB available, 6396 GFLOPS peak)
... OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX TITAN Black (driver version 370.28, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA, 6074MB, 4010MB available, 6396 GFLOPS peak)
